“GOD, RELIGION, ATHEISM - ‘SO WHAT?’ ”
- A Message to the Indifferent -
(posted: January 2012)

* All scripture references are from the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible, unless otherwise noted.

“... they aren’s atheists either. They simply shrug off God, religion, or the ever-trendy search for meaning and purpose. Their attitude could be summed up as
“So what?’ “ 1

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
                                       Jesus
                                       Revelations 3:16

  1. On January 3, 2012, an article in USA Today (God, Religion, Atheism - “So what?”) described the spiritual apathy that has descended upon America. Nearly half the population surveyed view themselves as neither religious nor atheistic; they simply don’t care. These “apatheists” are much more concerned with the next party or football game than their eternal destiny; God is “off their radar”. Even the disinterested of 2012 prove God and the Bible as the word of God. Should their curiosity be aroused, they will find themselves depicted in Psalms 12, 112 and 72, the biblical year pattern reflecting January 3, 2012.

  2. Biblical Year pattern for January 3, 2012/Hebrew Year 5772 (Psalms 12, 112, 72)
    1. Psalm 12:1-4, 6-8
           1. Help Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear
from among the sons of men.

“... a more openly secular America as people fess up to being faithless.” 1

“44% don’t spend time seeking ‘eternal wisdom’; 46% never wonder whether they will go to heaven.” 1

         2. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; ...

“Instead of followers of Jesus, they’re followers of 5,000 unseen ‘friends’ on Facebook or Twitter.” 1

         3. May the Lord cut off flattering lips, and the tongue that
              speaks proud things.

“... a culture that celebrates an idea that all truths are equally valid, he says. Personal experience and personal authority matter most.” 1

         4. Who have said “With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are
our own, who is lord over us?”

“A decade later, 80% of her clients choose her carefully God-free (marriage) ceremony. The only faith they pledge is to each other.” 1

“... nearly half said they believed ‘nothing in particular’.“ 1

6, 7. 6 The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a
furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 ... You shall
preserve them from this generation forever.

“Scripture and tradition are quaint irrelevant artifacts.” 1

         8. ... when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

“We’re just focusing on the party.” 1

    1. Psalm 112:1, 9, 10
      1. ... Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments.
      2. ... His righteousness endures forever, his horn will be exalted with honor.
      3. The wicked will see it and be grieved; he will gnash his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked will perish.

[The scripture relative to the news article contrasts the destiny of those who fear and
honor God with those who ignore Him.]

    1. Psalm 72:8, 9, 11, 19
                8. He shall have dominion from sea to sea and from the River to
                     the ends of the earth.
9, 11. 9 ... And His enemies will lick the dust ... 11 All kings shall fall
down before Him; all nations shall serve Him.
             19. And blessed be His glorious name forever. And let the whole
earth be filled with His glory.
                    Amen and Amen.

“For them the Almighty is off the radar like some tiny foreign country they know exists but never think about.” 1

[Contrasts God’s filling the whole earth rather than “some tiny foreign country.”]

  3. The apatheists of the world can take comfort in knowing they don’t have to spend a lot of their time on earth finding God. At the end of their lives, God will find them. Believers, unbelievers and the undecided will all fall down before Him.
